Summary
The Proxicam AI Camera (PXCAM-EVO) is a ruggedised, edge-computing pedestrian detection sensor designed to actively monitor exclusion zones around industrial machinery. By utilizing advanced object recognition algorithms, it serves as a critical engineering control to eliminate blind spots and provide operators with audible and visual notifications.

Installation and Usage
Proper physical placement of the PXCAM-EVO is critical to ensure accurate AI detection zones and optimum visibility on the LCD Monitor (if installed)
-
Determine the Mounting Location:
Position the camera as high as possible on the exterior of the machine to maximize the 170º ultra-wide field of view. Ensure the chosen location provides an unobstructed view for the camera's detection zones (0.5m to 10m range).
IMPORTANT
Angle the camera downwards.
The edge of the machine should be visible in the field-of-view on the video. -
Secure the Hardware:
Fasten the camera using the supplied 316 stainless-steel mounting bracket. The modular bracket can be attached to the top, bottom, left, or right side of the camera housing to suit various machine profiles.
-
Verify Upright Orientation:
The physical camera housing MUST be mounted perfectly upright. Verify this by ensuring the UP arrow indicator on the front face of the camera is pointing UP toward the sky.
-
Route the Cables:
Route the attached 8-core, 5mm OD cable away from pinch points and moving machinery parts. Securely connect the 8-PIN DIN GX12 screw-lock connector to the designated Proxicam extension harness, ensuring the waterproof O-ring seal is seated tightly. -
Configure the Detection Zones:
-
Temporarily connect the USBCAL WiFi Dongle in-line with the camera to access the web-based Proxicam Configuration App.
-
Mark out your physical zones on the ground, then use the App and drag the on-screen zone lines to match.

Troubleshooting & FAQ
Can I mount the camera upside down if the machine geometry requires it?
No. The physical camera enclosure MUST be mounted upright, guided by the UP arrow on the housing, to ensure proper heat dissipation and environmental sealing. If your installation (such as a rear-facing setup) results in an inverted or mirrored view on the monitor, you must correct the video feed using the Mirror Camera Image or Flip Camera Image toggles within the Configuration App software.
The camera displays a constant red LED on the front face.
A solid Red LED indicates that the camera has encountered a critical system error. During normal operation, the LED should remain solid Blue. [TBD: Missing Info - Specific red LED error code resolutions]. Power cycle the machine, and if the red LED persists, contact technical support for further hardware diagnostics.
