Installing the DV-Hub Data & Video Loggger

Summary

The Proxicam Data and Video Logger (DV-HUB) is a ruggedised device that serves as the central recording and telemetry transmission node for the Proxicam Pedestrian Detection System. It captures continuous high-definition video from up to four cameras and automatically logs critical proximity events, storing data locally on a secure solid-state drive (SSD) or transmitting it to the FleetHQ cloud platform.

Installation and Usage

  1. Mounting:
Securely bolt the DV-Hub's tamper-proof die-cast aluminium casing to a flat surface inside the machine cabin or equipment bay.
  2. Antenna Placement:
Connect the supplied puck-style antenna to the rear of the DV-Hub. Mount the antenna on or next to a window, ensuring it has a clear view of the sky and is not directly covered by any metal panels to ensure optimal GPS and 4G/WiFi reception.
  3. Power Connection:
Connect the main POWER I/O harness. Wire the B+ and ACC+ inputs to a 10V-32V DC power source, and securely ground the **GND -** wire.
  4. Camera Routing:
Connect the camera extension harnesses to the designated inputs (Left, Right, Front, Rear) on the DV-Hub harness.
  5. External Triggers (Optional):
If integrating with external alarms or machine controls, connect the Alarm OUT wire (which provides a positive 12V+, 500mA trigger on detection) and the Reverse/Aux Input as required by your specific site logic.
  6. Configuration Initialization:
After creating your configuration file using the DV-Hub Configuration App on a Windows PC, insert the configured SD card into the powered-down DV-Hub.
  7. Boot and Format:
Supply power to the DV-Hub. The system will commence its boot-up sequence, automatically read the SD card, and format the internal SSD hard drive (**WARNING:** All existing data on the SSD will be permanently erased).
  8. Finalisation:
The DV-Hub will reboot to apply the new configuration settings, which takes approximately 5 minutes. Once the setup is complete, immediately remove the SD card to prevent accidental formatting during the next boot cycle.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

The SSD is empty and there are no files or folders on the drive.
This typically occurs if the SD card containing the DV-Config setup file was left inside the DV-Hub during a recent power cycle. The DV-Hub is programmed to automatically format the internal SSD upon reading a configuration card on boot-up, which permanently erases all historical video data. Always remove the SD card immediately after the initial configuration process is complete.

New detection events are not appearing on the FleetHQ dashboard.
Verify the DV-Hub's network connection. Ensure the puck antenna has a clear view of the sky. Use the Configuration App to check the SD card configuration and ensure the correct SIM APN or WiFi credentials were saved. Additionally, verify that the Server Address is exactly 54.206.164.20 and the Server Port is 9090.
