Summary
The Proxicam DV-HUB is a ruggedised data and video logger that serves as the central recording and telemetry transmission node for the Proxicam Pedestrian Detection System. This guide addresses the most common operational, configuration, and data retrieval questions to assist technicians and fleet managers in maintaining optimal system performance and data integrity.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
1. Why are my continuous video recordings not appearing on the FleetHQ cloud portal?
Continuous video recordings are strictly stored locally on the DV-Hub's internal SSD and are not uploaded to the Proxicam Cloud Server. Only 10-second event-based recordings are pushed to the cloud. To view continuous footage, you must physically remove the SSD and connect it to a PC using the DV-Player application.
2. Why did my DV-Hub erase all recorded video files after a recent power cycle?
When an SD card containing a newly saved configuration file (DV-Config_v2.6.exe) is left inside the DV-Hub during a boot cycle, the system will automatically read the card and initiate a format of the internal SSD. This permanently erases all historical video and telemetry data. Always ensure the configuration SD card is removed from the DV-Hub immediately after the initial setup is complete.
3. I connected the SSD to my PC, but the DV-Player shows no files, and the drive appears empty. What should I do?
First, navigate to the \record\normal\ folder on the drive to confirm if video files exist. If files are present but not displaying in the application, manually delete the .DV-Player folder from the SSD's root directory and relaunch the DV-Player executable to force a fresh index scan. If the drive is completely empty, it indicates the configuration SD card was left in the unit, triggering an automatic format.
4. What data is captured and transmitted during a pedestrian detection event?
When a pedestrian enters a detection zone, the DV-Hub logs a critical proximity event. This captures a 10-second high-definition video clip aggregating all four camera channels, irrespective of which camera triggered the event. It also logs vital asset telemetry data, including the Asset ID, precise GPS location, machine speed, heading, and a UTC 0 timestamp.
5. Can I connect third-party hardware to the DV-Hub to activate external alarms?
Yes. The DV-Hub main harness features a dedicated Trigger Output Wire. Upon a pedestrian detection event, this wire delivers a positive 12V+ (500mA) output trigger, which can be utilised to safely activate external warning devices such as beacons or sirens.
6. How do I configure the DV-Hub for my specific fleet and network?
The DV-Hub must be configured prior to operation using the DV-Hub Configuration App. Insert the supplied SD card into a Windows 10/11 PC, launch DV-Config_v2.6.exe, and input the Asset ID, Monitor Layout, and NETWORK parameters (SIM/WiFi and Server Address). Click Save to SD Card, safely eject it, and insert it into the powered-down DV-Hub before initializing.
7. What is the maximum storage capacity of the DV-Hub?
The Proxicam DV-Hub supports a removable 2.5” Solid State Drive (SSD) with a maximum storage capacity of up to 2TB. The system utilises a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) looping overwrite mechanism, which automatically erases the oldest video files to make space for new recordings when the drive reaches capacity.
8. What do the continuously alternating Red and Green LEDs on the front of the DV-Hub indicate?
The status LEDs on the front of the DV-Hub provide a visual indication of the system's operational health. Continuously alternating Red and Green LEDs confirm that the system is currently in an Active recording state.
