System Features and Functions

System Identification & Configuration

  • Asset ID Assignment: Utilizing the SYSTEM tab, users can input the asset's fleet or registration number into the Asset ID field. This ensures the unique identifier is permanently displayed on the recorded video overlay for accurate incident reporting and auditing.
  • Dynamic Detection Mode: Enables and sets the Safe-to-Approach mode depending on required system behaviour and available signals.
  • Mode Display Type: Set how the display of the cameras behaves based on camera detection events, reverse input activation or if all cameras are to be constantly visible on screen.
  • Speed: Set the desired speed unit format to be shown on the screen and recorded video overlay.

Camera Display and Monitor Layouts

The CAMERA DISPLAY tab dictates how the connected Proxicam AI Cameras are presented on the in-cabin LCD monitor.

  • Connected Cameras:
Select checkboxes for the specific cameras physically installed on the machine (Left, Right, Front, Rear).
  • Custom Label: Allows a custom channel label to be set for each  connected camera. Note that this only affects the label shown on the screen and recorded video overlay and does not affect the recorded channel label in the DV-Player app, or events reported to FleetHQ.

Network and Server Connectivity

The NETWORK tab controls how the DV-Hub establishes a connection to the Proxicam Cloud Server (FleetHQ).

  • Communication:
Select whether WiFi and/or Cellular 4G LTE networks are to be used for uploading data to the cloud. Leave both checkboxes disabled for offline recording only mode.
  • Endpoint:
Select the server endpoint that the device will report to.
  • SIM (4G) Configuration:
When utilizing a cellular connection, check SIM Data and enter the correct SIM APN (Access Point Name) provided by your cellular carrier.
  • WiFi Configuration:
When relying on local wireless networks, check WiFi Data to input up to three SSID network names and their corresponding Passwords. Each WiFi network can be configured as a visible or hidden network if required by toggling the eye icon.

Configuration and Setup

Each Proxicam DV-Hub is shipped with an SD card pre-loaded with an executable configuration software. Follow these steps to configure the device:

  1. Launch the Application:
Insert the supplied SD card into a Windows 10/11 PC or laptop using a USB SD card reader. Browse the drive and double-click the DV-Config.exe file to open and run the app.
  2. Input Parameters:
Navigate through the SYSTEM, CAMERA, and NETWORK tabs, entering the required configuration for your specific machine environment.
  3. Save Configuration:
Once all parameters are accurate, click the Save to SD Card button at the bottom of the interface to initialize the settings file onto the card.
  4. Hardware Transfer:
Safely eject the SD card from the PC and insert it directly into the SD card slot on the powered-down DV-Hub.

WARNING: All existing data on the SSD will be permanently erased during the next steps. If SSD has already been initialised and contains data you wish to keep, please remove the SSD drive before powering up with the re-configured SD Card. Re-insert the SSD after the configuration has loaded and after powering down the device.

  5. Initialize the DV-Hub:
Supply power to the DV-Hub. The unit will commence its boot-up sequence, read the SD card configuration, and automatically format the internal SSD hard drive.
  6. Completion:
The DV-Hub will automatically reboot to apply the new configuration settings. The entire initialization process takes approximately 5 minutes.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

The DV-Hub is not uploading events to the FleetHQ cloud platform.

Check the NETWORK tab settings via the Configuration App. For 4G LTE connections, ensure the SIM APN is correctly entered for your specific network provider. For WiFi connections, verify the SSID and Password are exact matches (case-sensitive). Finally, ensure that the WiFi Visibility/Hidden setting in the Configuration App matches the configuration of the network.
